About the role 

St John’s Regional College is seeking a motivated and flexible Casual Laboratory Technician to support the day-to-day delivery of Science and Technology programs across the College.

Working on an as-needed basis, this role supports teachers and students by preparing laboratory materials and equipment, maintaining safe and organised laboratory environments, and assisting with practical classroom activities. The successful applicant will play an important role in ensuring engaging and effective learning experiences for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials, solutions, specimens, and equipment for practical classes and demonstrations
  • Support teachers and students during laboratory activities and experiments
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, stock levels, and chemical storage systems
  • Ensure laboratories and preparation areas remain clean, safe, and organised
  • Assist with laboratory safety compliance and safe handling/disposal of chemicals
  • Assist with classroom clean-up and general laboratory administration
