Role Description/Criteria

St John’s Regional College is a Catholic Co-Educational College with a proud Lasallian and Presentation Heritage, governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS).

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable applicants for the position of Casual Canteen Assistant to support the daily operation of our school canteen.

About the Role

Working on a casual, as-needed basis, the Casual Canteen Assistant will:

  • Assist with food preparation and food handling 
  • Provide friendly customer service to students, staff, and visitors 
  • Operate point of sale and assist with cash handling 
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene 
  • Support the efficient day-to-day running of the canteen during busy service periods

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions 
  • A reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work

Essential Requirements

Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain:

  • Working With Children Check (Victoria) 
  • National Police Record Check 
  • Food Handlers Certificate 
  • Level 2 First Aid (including asthma and anaphylaxis)
