Role Description/Criteria

The Deputy Principal, Daily Organiser & PBL Coach is responsible for creating a positive learning environment that promotes growth for all. They will support all staff in the implementation of the schools new Positive Behaviour of Learning approach, evidence-based practice for continuous improvement, social and emotional and learning growth. This will be achieved by supporting the Principal in providing both strategic and day to day leadership of the School.

The Deputy Principal will be responsible for developing respectful, collaborative relationships to contribute to a positive school climate and catholic school culture. In conjunction with the Principal, they will be responsible for enacting the school’s vision and mission while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.

The Daily Organiser will be responsible for developing respectful, collaborative relationships to contribute to a positive school climate and culture. In conjunction with the Principal, they will be responsible for enacting the school’s vision and mission while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. The Deputy Principal, Daily Organiser & PBL Coach attracts a 2 year contract with an ongoing teaching position.

Applicants should demonstrate experience in the following:

  • Lead the Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL) Team and implement the school’s PBL framework
  • Analyse and track schoolwide data to make informed decisions about next steps for wellbeing and engagement of all
  • Work with the Principal - Learning Community Coaches to oversee the process for graduates applying for full registration with VIT
  • Support the Wellbeing Coach to use data and teach Tier 2 and Tier 3 wellbeing interventions in collaboration with the Wellbeing Coach
  • Work in collaboration with the Principal - Community Learning Coaches and other school coaches to plan and lead staff professional learning
  • Attend planning to support leader coaching and feedback 
  • Enacting AAP and SIP priorities 
  • Support and provide opportunities for teacher growth through the implementation of coaching
  • Coach leaders & teachers aspiring to leadership
  • Assist the Principal in developing a school environment which is supportive of social and emotional wellbeing, learning and high achievement for all
  • Collaboratively plan, monitor and review the effectiveness of learning across the school and contribute to school self-evaluation and the development of improvement plans
  • In conjunction with the Principal & School Development team, actively promote ongoing staff development through mentoring, coaching and feedback
  • Ensure teachers are aware of and actively support, a high standard of professionalism through the use of the AITSL Standards
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with all members of the school, parish and wider community 
  • Promote partnerships that engage families and local and global communities to support, extend and challenge learning
  • Respect and foster the role of parents in their child’s education and in the school community
  • Participate in or lead selection and recruitment processes for relief, temporary and ongoing teaching positions 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive team culture
  • Participate in extracurricular activities relating to the life of the school
  • Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment for yourself and others and comply with all safe work policies and procedures
  • Be familiar and comply with the school’s child-safe policy, standards and code of conduct, and any other policies and procedures relating to child safety
  • Maintain compliance records and training for the staff in first aid and anaphylaxis training requirements
  • In the absence of the Principal take on role as Acting Principal
  • Organise, create and maintain specialist timetables, yard duty timetables throughout the year 
  • Manage staff daily absences and organise replacements
  • Induct CRT’s to St Clare’s in regards to school procedures and expectations 
  • Manage staff Long Service Leave (LSL) and leave replacements in consultation with the Principal & Bursar
  • Update the school desktop daily to inform staff of absences and replacements
