Role Description/Criteria

St Thomas Aquinas Primary School, Norlane is a school of 156 students. We value all in our community and live by the words of St Thomas Aquinas, "It is better to illuminate than to merely shine." The Gospel values of respect, compassion, justice and service guide our relationships and decisions.

St Thomas Aquinas School is seeking a dynamic and committed Deputy Principal to join our senior leadership team. This vital role requires a close collaboration with the Principal to provide strong leadership and support to our school community. As a senior leader, the Deputy Principal will be a positive role model for staff, students, and parents, embodying the Catholic faith and the mission of our school in both word and action.

Key responsibilities include leading Student Wellbeing, Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and Daily Organisation. In addition, the Deputy Principal will play a crucial role in enacting the school’s vision and mission.

The attached position description is indicative of the role. We anticipate applicants will have already held a Position of Leadership and/or a Deputy Principal role. A Master’s degree or equivalent postgraduate study would be viewed favourably.

The contract is for ongoing full-time employment with a 3 year contract as Deputy Principal with the opportunity to extend this upon a performance review of the Deputy Principal role.

For those interested in a school tour with the Principal and learning more about our community, please complete this Google Form - https://forms.gle/6xjx56DLAVREt3eF9

Please note that applications close at 4pm on Friday, September 13th. It is anticipated that interviews will take place on Thursday, September 19th.

St Thomas Aquinas is a child-safe organisation and regards the safety of all children as paramount to our core beliefs.

Further information about the school is available on the school’s website at www.stanorlane.catholic.edu.au
