Role Description/Criteria

At St Francis of Assisi we foster curiosity, embrace creativity, develop critical thinking skills and empower students to take responsibility for their learning. Our teachers have high expectations for all learners to help them reach their highest potential. We offer challenging and motivating learning experiences that build on prior knowledge and develop new skills and perspectives.

We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate and innovative leader to take on the shared role of Deputy Principal. This role will be coupled with leading another position of responsibility in the St Francis of Assisi community. The Deputy Principal role attracts a 2 year contract with an ongoing teaching position. 

Applicants should demonstrate experience in the following:

  • working collaboratively in a team with a shared approach to leadership
  • an ability to develop and maintain respectful and caring relationships with students, families and colleagues
  • a leader in their chosen area of expertise who ensures that the school delivers high quality and evidence based learning and teaching practices 
  • an ability to lead professional development in line with the school’s strategic plan and meets the diverse needs of students and staff
  • developing a feedback culture through coaching and mentoring
  • effective organisational, planning and administrative skills
  • use of the research of the Science of Learning to implement effective change and growth for student learning
  • an understanding of Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL) and the implementation of this to create safe and effective teaching and learning environments
