Role Description/Criteria

St John Vianney’s Mulgrave seeks a dynamic innovative and passionate leader to join our team in the position of Deputy Principal. The successful applicant will be suitably qualified and have a proven record of leadership.

Whilst the successful applicant will be offered ongoing employment at the school, the Deputy Principal position will initially be offered as a three year fixed term position with the possibly of renewal.

The Deputy Principal  will work very closely with and in support of the Principal. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Deputy Principal will play a significant role in the implementation of the School Improvement Plan and Annual Action Plan to support our students and families within our multi-cultural community.

The role of Deputy Principal is a multi-faceted one. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of curriculum and work closely with school leaders to support and improve student outcomes. The role requires a strong knowledge of policy development and implementation.

The role of Deputy Principal will require strongly developed interpersonal skills within the community. The successful applicant will exhibit excellent communication and personnel management skills as well exemplary organisational/ administrative abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • recent success and experience in a leadership role
  • post graduate qualifications are desirable
  • VIT registration inclusive of a Police Check
  • RE Accreditation
  • a current First Aid Certificate 
  • a willingness to attend meetings and events during and out of school hours as required
