Role Description/Criteria
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and innovative STEAM Teacher to join our specialist teaching team, working with students from Prep to Year 6 one day per week. This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM), fostering curiosity, creativity and problem-solving skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and implementing a dynamic STEAM program aligned with the Victorian Curriculum.
- Promoting inquiry, design thinking and collaboration.
- Integrating digital technologies and the arts into authentic learning experiences.
- Working collaboratively with classroom teachers to embed STEAM learning across the curriculum.
Contributing to a culture of innovation, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Special Requirements
All applicants must:
- have and maintain ongoing registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- be accredited to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school or be willing to undertake accreditation
- have an understanding of and commitment to Child Safe Standards
Key Selection Criteria
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of Catholic education.
- Current registration (or eligibility) with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
- Understanding of the Victorian Curriculum, particularly Science, Technologies, Mathematics and the Arts.
- Experience or interest in student-centred, inquiry-based and project-based learning.
- Capacity to integrate ICT and emerging technologies creatively and effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
Understanding of and adherence to Child Safety and MACS policies, including the MACS Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy, Code of Conduct, and Child Safety Procedures.
