Role Description/Criteria

The Deputy Principal role will also reflect the skills, passions and experience of the applicant and negotiated with the Principal.

A Deputy Principal Role Description is attached.

Covering Letter: Please provide a covering letter introducing yourself and expressing your interest in the position. In your letter, briefly outline your qualifications, relevant experience, and why you believe you are a suitable candidate for the role.                                                                           

Examples of Experience/Understanding: Please include brief examples demonstrating your experience of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) five key professional practices for school leaders. These practices include:

  • Leading teaching and learning
  • Developing self and others
  • Leading improvement, innovation, and change
  • Leading the management of the school
  • Engaging and working with the community

Provide specific instances or projects where you have successfully applied these practices in your professional career, inform the interview discussion.

Certified Copies of Qualifications and Accreditations: Include certified copies of your qualifications and any relevant accreditations required for the position.                                                                                                       

Copy of Current VIT Registration: Please include a copy of your current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or equivalent certification.

Referee Contact Details: Provide mobile contact details for your current Principal and at least two other professionals who can serve as referees. These individuals should be able to provide insights into your professional abilities, character, and suitability for the role. Please ensure that you have obtained their consent to be listed as referees.
