Position Purpose:

The central goal of MacKillop Family Services is to support, to foster hope and to promote justice for children, young people and their families, particularly those who experience distress, disadvantage and abuse. Education is central to that goal.

MacKillop Family Services provides governance and oversight of MacKillop Education. Our schools and programs are also aligned with MacKillop Archdiocese Catholic Schools. The Principal will lead the campus in Geelong, and will have responsibility for all areas of the school and in particular the 5 spheres outlined below.

Our schools in Geelong (Foundation to VCAL), Maidstone (Years 3 to 6), and Caulfield (Foundation to VCAL), cater for students with diverse learning needs who are disengaged, or at risk of disengaging, from education. Our schools provide an individualised and differentiated learning program; students may re-enter mainstream school, or remain at MacKillop to complete their schooling. A senior certificate, is offered to secondary students and/or they are supported to access other education pathways, including traineeships and apprenticeships.


Primary Objectives:

To provide comprehensive and effective leadership to the Geelong Campus of MacKillop Education including meeting all key result areas and responsibilities.


Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Relevant postgraduate qualifications in education

• Extensive experience in senior leadership positions in schools

• Relevant experience teaching and supporting vulnerable children and young people

• An understanding of trauma-informed practice in an educational setting

• Demonstrated alignment with the ethos and identity of a catholic school and a commitment to model these values as a leader

• Valid and current Driver’s Licence;

• Satisfactory Criminal History Check;

• Valid Working with Children Check;

• Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles)
