Young Catholics from around the world are gathering for the beginning of World Youth Day, and a large contingent of pilgrims from Melbourne are front and centre for the experience.
Pilgrims from the Archdiocese of Melbourne met the Holy Father Pope Francis in Rome yesterday in a special private audience as part of the lead-up to World Youth Day in Lisbon.
Almost 600 young Melbournians gathered on Sunday for a commissioning ceremony and Mass led by Archbishop Peter A Comensoli in St Patrick’s Cathedral ahead of their departure for World Youth Day.
