Role Description/Criteria

We are seeking a full-time Deputy Principal – Learning and Teaching Leader and Religious Education Leader to join our vibrant and committed School Leadership Team. The position is full time with the successful applicant undertaking the three roles. This is a key executive leadership position, central to driving excellence in teaching and learning across the school.

Whilst the successful applicant will be offered ongoing employment at the school, the Deputy Principal position will initially be offered as a three year fixed term position with the possibly of renewal.

As Deputy Principal – Learning and Teaching Leader and Religious Education Leader, you will:

  • Work in close partnership with the Principal to design and deliver a forward-thinking curriculum that aligns with the MACS 2030 Vision for Instruction.
  • Lead the development of high-impact teaching practices grounded in the Science of Learning to drive student growth and achievement.
  • Support and mentor staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and ongoing professional learning.
  • Champion the wellbeing, safety, and academic success of every student, promoting a holistic approach to education.
  • Strengthen relationships across the school, parish, and broader community to enhance the learning experience for all.

  • A strong understanding of and commitment to the mission and identity of Catholic education.
  • Demonstrated leadership in curriculum design and instructional mentoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, inspire and support others.
  • A clear and strategic vision for teaching and learning that will make a meaningful impact on our school community.
  • Accreditation to Teach and Lead in a Catholic school.

Special Requirements

  • Demonstrated recent success and experience in a school leadership position
  • Postgraduate qualifications (highly regarded)
  • Current VIT registration, including a valid Police Check
  • Accreditation to teach and Lead Religious Education
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Willingness to participate in school events and meetings both during and outside of regular school hours, as needed
