Role Description/Criteria
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic teacher to join the learning community of St Francis de Sales Primary School, Oak Park.

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable teacher to join our learning community beginning in Term 3. The successful candidate will provide targeted, evidence-based reading intervention aligned with the Science of Learning. This position requires expertise in explicitly teaching phonics and reading. Experience with utilising resources such as Little Learners Love Literacy (LLLL), UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute), and the use of DIBELS for assessment and progress monitoring would be advantageous.
This role has the flexibility to be spread across 4 or 5 days (0.6, 0.75 or 0.8 full time equivalent). We will appoint before the closing date if we deem a candidate to suitable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver small group and one-to-one literacy intervention to students identified as at risk or below grade-level benchmarks.
- Implement structured, systematic, and explicit phonics instruction.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and leadership team to align intervention with classroom instruction.
- Maintain accurate and timely data records to report on student progress and inform decision making.
- Develop home-school partnerships to further support learning.
- Support a school wide culture of high expectations and inclusive literacy instruction for all learners.

- accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School or a willingness to seek accreditation

- strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to continue to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents and our Parish community
- a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
- a strong understanding of contemporary learning and the Victorian Curriculum relevant qualifications and abilities to teach at all levels

Special Requirements

- have and maintain ongoing registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- be accredited to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school
