Role Description/Criteria

St Martin de Porres Primary School is a growing multicultural school in the Western Suburbs.

We are seeking applications for the role of Learning Support Officer from people who are passionate about supporting students and excited to be part of a dynamic learning community. The Learning Support Officer is responsible for assisting in creating a positive learning environment that promotes growth in every student, no matter their starting point.

We are seeking a Learning Support Officer who has a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and to the safety and wellbeing of all students.

This position is for four days a week from 8:50am - 3:20pm. Days can be negotiated. 

Key Selection criteria

Applicants are expected to:

  • Work with children with differing needs either in the classroom setting, in small groups or on an individual basis
  • Demonstrate successful team work skills and dispositions
  • Take direction and implement learning tasks from the Class Teacher and/or Learning Enhancement Teacher and Learning Diversity Leader
  • Participate in Program Support Group meetings (PSGs) as required
  • Maintain documentation to meet Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) documentation requirements
  • Fulfil other duties as required (examples include; filing, data entry, organising school events, providing First Aid, covering reception duties, etc).

Special Requirements

Certificate III in Education support or Children's Services (or working towards) OR be working towards completing a Bachelor of Education (Teaching)

Have a current Working With Children's Check

Be familiar with and comply with St Martin de Porres Child-Safe policy and Code of Conduct, and other policies and procedures relating to child safety
