Role Description/Criteria

St Mary MacKillop Catholic Primary School, Bannockburn, is seeking teachers who have a passion for teaching Performing Arts and have a clear knowledge and understanding of current Victorian curriculum and education trends to join their staff. The successful applicant will need to have experience teaching Performing Arts (Dance, Drama & Music) to Primary school aged children.

The position is a full time maternity leave position until the end of the 2025 school year.  The position has a start date of Tuesday 26th August to enable a handover with the current PA teacher.

Applications are invited from Performing Arts teachers to join a team dedicated to achieving engaging learning experiences that challenge children to achieve their personal best. 

The successful applicant needs to be able to demonstrate how they can inspire the children in their care and communicate their passion for Performing Arts.

It is expected that the successful applicant will:

  • be highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly and enthusiastic
  • be passionate and innovative about learning and teaching in Performing Arts
  • have knowledge and experience of the Victorian Curriculum. 
  • be able to communicate frequently and sensitively with families and successfully engage them in the instructional program
  • have the ability to be a collaborative contributor within a team focussed learning community
  • be self motivated and able to work independently if necessary
  • have the capacity to cater effectively for a diverse range of learning needs
  • be able to build positive relationships with children and create learning environments where all are valued and challenged
  • be committed to professional learning and ongoing improvement
  • be able to embed ICT into classroom practice.

• Accreditation to teach in a Catholic school (please include accreditation documentation)

• VIT registration (please include copy of current VIT registration card)

• Three professional referees including their current Principal.
