Role Description/Criteria

YOUR ROLE

As a Principal, you will be inspired to lead a joy-filled community where students, staff, and families can flourish within a Catholic context. Your leadership will enable the vision of the school to be realised, creating an environment where everyone can reach their full potential. The role of the Principal is one of the most important roles across the MACS system, as their faith and educational leadership enables the vision of the school to be realised. This role will work in collaboration with MACS, staff members, local Parish Priest, and the broader School community to achieve the identified goals of the School.

ABOUT ST CATHERINE OF SIENA PRIMARY SCHOOL

St Catherine of Siena Primary School is nestled in a semi-rural setting, just 45 kilometres from Melbourne. The school offers the perfect blend of being easily accessible to the city, while still maintaining peaceful parkland surroundings.  One of the unique features of our school is its close connection to St Francis Catholic College, where many of students continue their education from Years 7 to 12

The learning environment offers opportunities for every child to engage in learning through a well-rounded curriculum, applying innovative teaching strategies and nurturing unique interests and talents. Beliefs and educational practices reflect and support the gospel values of faith, love and respect, promoting an environment that is both inclusive and supportive.

A strong understanding of current educational practices and MACS directions is essential.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

The community of St Catherine of Siena is diverse and vibrant, celebrating a range of cultures and traditions. Educators inspire students to explore life’s big questions with curiosity and faith all guided by the Holy spirit and Gospel values. Through prayer, reflection and service, the community actively engages with the richness of the Catholic story and its traditions

The school works in partnership with parents and carers to promote a happy and purpose led environment supporting the growth and development of each child spiritually, emotionally and academically. Many new homes have been built in Melton West region, and this has contributed to more families joining St Catherine of Siena in recent years.

The Principal leads a team of approximately 70 staff and a student cohort of 526

MACS is seeking a Principal who will build on the school’s strengths, engage wholeheartedly with the community, and lead with vision and faith, guiding the school through its next phase of growth, including upcoming infrastructure projects.

Enrolment numbers are correct at the time of publication.
