Role Description/Criteria
This is a full time, position to commence on January 27, 2026. (A part time position of FTE 0.8 position would be considered).

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and outstanding teacher to co-lead our Mathematics Program. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and a thorough knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum requirements. This position focuses on curriculum leadership, participating in the development and delivery of quality Mathematics’ teaching and learning; nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and parents. The successful applicant will be a person who can lead collaboratively and inspire others to engage and motivate students to achieve success in their learning of Mathematics.
Special Requirements
Some of the key duties and responsibilities of the Mathematics Leader:
- co-lead facilitated planning sessions across all year levels; planning units of work and analysing data in context
- facilitate discussions during collaborative planning, and support and monitor the learning and teaching of mathematics at a classroom level
- lead mathematics-focused professional learning in alignment with MACS Vision for Instruction and Science of Learning practices
- support teachers to use data effectively to drive the learning and teaching of mathematics at a classroom level
- use data to guide planning and teaching to meet the needs of all students
- support teachers to use a range of appropriate pedagogies to ensure that all students experience success in mathematics
- prepare and monitor testing materials throughout the year as outlined in the Assessment Schedule
- organise, monitor and evaluate support groups throughout all year levels and provide ongoing support and training for Learning Support Officers
- present information for staff at staff meetings and at Year level planning and provide Maths information sessions for parents
- source and distribute professional readings for staff
- conduct a regular audit of all Numeracy Resources and to maintain these resources
- commit to ongoing professional learning opportunities.
Other Requirements
- have accreditation to teach in a Catholic school
- additional qualifications in this field (or currently completing qualifications)
- hold Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration
