Role Description/Criteria

Applications are invited from experienced educators, seeking a leadership role within a dynamic Learning Diversity team.

Working as part of a team of three Directors, this position will support and oversee a wide range of programs and activities for students who require tailored learning programs to support their academic giftedness, transition, integration, or a specific learning requirement. The Directors of Learning Diversity oversee and mentor a team of dedicated Learning Support Officers (LSOs), ensuring they are effectively utilised in supporting student learning in and outside of the classroom environment.

As a key advisor in the development of curriculum adaptations and assessment adjustments, the Directors facilitate collaborative processes between students, educators, and families to build a shared understanding of learning goals and responsibilities. The Directors will jointly oversee the development and implementation of a suite of innovative learning resources to support differentiated practice, lead professional learning, and build staff capacity to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of learning adjustments. 

Success in this role requires a strong sense of empathy and sensitivity to ensure all students can experience academic success, develop socially, and achieve outcomes aligned to their individual potential. As a trusted leader, the Directors will promote optimism, patience, and authenticity, providing stability and support. 

This is a permanent, full-time teaching role, commencing in Term 1, 2026.  A position of leadership allowance (POL 4) plus generous time release (600 minutes) will be allocated until January 2027.   

Our ideal Candidate will have 

  • specialist knowledge and understanding of contemporary, evidence-based learning interventions 
  • experience leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on collaboration 
  • demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of differentiated learning programs, curriculum and resources      
  • an ability to lead and build respectful relationships between students, educators and families
  • experience in leading the professional development of educators in their understanding and implementation of differentiated learning techniques, technologies and pedagogy 
  • experience in case management for a range of learning diversity needs 
  • an understanding of the requirements for the collection and collation of NCCD and learning adjustment evidence and data 
  • a commitment to work in a Catholic Education environment.
