The Position

Loreto Toorak invites applications from experienced Mathematics Teachers for a full-time, fixed-term position commencing in Semester 1, 2026, with the possibility of extension through to the end of the academic year.

Reporting to the Head of Faculty, the successful candidate will be a passionate and innovative educator dedicated to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematics among students. This role requires the ability to design and deliver dynamic, inquiry-based lessons that not only cover curriculum requirements but also inspire curiosity and critical thinking.

You will be responsible for teaching VCE General Mathematics Units 1 and 2, Mathematical Methods Units 1 and 2, Year 9 and Year 10 Mathematics.

An emphasis on using effective teaching strategies to simplify complex concepts, encourage problem-solving skills, and integrate real-world applications will be essential.

About You

To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have:

  • Current Teaching Registration (Victorian Institute of Teaching)
  • Proven expertise and knowledge in teaching mathematics including VCE General Mathematics and Methods.
  • A demonstrated understanding and appreciation of principles and practices of student learning strategies and styles
  • Excellent communication skills to a range of audiences
  • A collaborative approach with colleagues in planning and delivering curriculum
  • Proven experience in establishing and fostering relationships with students, staff and parents.
