Role Description/Criteria
We are currently seeking Learning Support Officers, commencing Term 1, 2026.
This role is part of the Education Support Team working with teachers in the classroom to support students with their learning needs.

Remuneration is based on experience in accordance with the Education Support Officer – Category B scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA)
Job description:
- Working in partnership with subject teachers, to support student learning;
- Attending to the care of the students, supporting their organisation skills, preparedness for class and access to the curriculum;
- Working with students in the class setting, providing 1:1 instructional support;
- Providing support for a student’s academic learning, behaviour program, physical care, or social progress throughout the entirety of a school day, including class and recess times;
- Assisting with the identification of student needs, skills and problems as they arise, and the evaluation of their progress, keeping the Educational Support Teacher informed at all times;
- Liaising with other Education Support personnel and teaching staff in order to maintain a comprehensive support program;
- Undertaking various administrative duties.
Skills/Experience required:
- A strong commitment to Catholic education.
- An ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students and colleagues.
- An eagerness to learn
- An enthusiasm to implement a differentiated curriculum and use modern technology to support student learning.
- Experience in a similar role is advantageous
Special Requirements:
At De La Salle College, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.
The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration. While accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.
