Role Description/Criteria

St Columba’s College Ltd is a Catholic secondary girls’ school located in Essendon under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and conducted in the tradition of the Sisters of Charity.

St Columba’s College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Officer (LSO) to join our Learning Diversity team. This role plays a vital part in supporting our students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally within an inclusive Catholic learning environment. This is a fixed term (with the possibility of ongoing) part time position working Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.

As a Learning Support Officer you will:

  • Work collaboratively with teachers to support students with diverse learning needs across Years 7–12.
  • Provide in-class assistance, small-group support and individualised learning adjustments.
  • Assist with the implementation of Personalised Learning Plans and evidence-based interventions.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine commitment to supporting young people with diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication, teamwork and relationship-building skills
  • Able to follow teacher direction while working proactively and independently
  • Experience in learning support, youth work, education support or similar fields (desirable)
  • Certificate III or IV in Education Support (advantageous but not essential)
