The Opportunity

St Kevin’s College invites applications for the role of Community Chaplain, a key position at the heart of our spiritual and pastoral life.

Central in our Gospel values and the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice, the Chaplain will animate and enrich our evolving Catholic identity, fostering an inclusive culture that warmly welcomes all students, staff, families, and alumni.

As a compassionate presence within our community, the Chaplain will:

  • Provide pastoral care and spiritual support to students, staff, and families.
  • Offer formation opportunities for staff and alumni.
  • Accompany members of the College community through times of celebration and challenge.

This is a unique opportunity for a person of faith, empathy, and vision to contribute meaningfully to the formation of young people of compassion, integrity, and excellence. 

This newly created part time (0.6) ongoing position, commencing 27 January 2026, located at our Heyington Campus.

About You

You will bring a combination of professional expertise, pastoral sensitivity, and a deep commitment to the mission and values of St Kevin’s College. Specifically, you will have:

  • Recognised qualifications in Theology, Ministry, or Pastoral Care, with a preference for additional qualifications in Education.
  • Demonstrated experience in chaplaincy, education, or pastoral ministry,  ideally within a school setting.
  • A strong commitment to the Catholic faith and the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice.
  • High levels of emotional intelligence, empathy, and discretion in all interactions.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across all areas of the College community.
  • A sound understanding of trauma-informed care, safeguarding principles, and professional boundaries.
