Role Description/Criteria

St Mary's College is a dynamic, student focused co-educational secondary school in St Kilda East, Victoria committed to fostering language learning, cultural understand and academic excellence.  The College is governed by Edmund Rice Education Australia Victorian Schools Ltd and the employer is the Principal acting on behalf of Edmund Rice Education Australia Victorian Schools Ltd trading as St Mary's College Melbourne.

The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Italian Teacher to inspire and engage students in the learning of the Italian language and culture. The successful candidate will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Italian lessons for secondary students.
  • Develop assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Promote cultural awareness through innovative teaching practices.

Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to meet diverse student needs.
  • VIT registration or an ability to obtain registration
  • An ability to implement a differentiated curriculum and use modern technology to support student learning.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and be able to provide care and support for students whilst respecting the ethos of the College.

Remuneration will range between $79,589 and $118,063 based on years' of experience in accordance with the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022.
