Role Description/Criteria
St Mary's College for the deaf is a small specialist school with campuses located across Melbourne. Based at Wantirna South, our administration team supports our students, families and staff who are based at campuses operating from within 5 inclusive partner schools.
The role of the Administration Officer is to oversee the College enrolment process and play a key role in the maintenance of community relations and student and family services. This position works as part of the Administration team, contributing to the College reception. The Administration Officer is the first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors, playing a crucial role in communication and school operations.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants will be required to demonstrate the appropriate professional standards as follows:
- Sound administrative and computing skills including preparation and accurate formatting of correspondence, reports and use of Microsoft or Google applications.
- Demonstrated capacity to initiate and develop procedures and guidelines.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills and the capacity to communicate effectively with members of the community including students, parents, and key personnel from other schools.
- Demonstrated high level organisation skills and the capacity to prioritise workflows.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to leadership in respect to the work area.
- Experience and skills in digital record systems and platforms such as Synergetic is preferable.
Child Safety
The successful applicant will:
- Be familiar with and comply with the school's child-safe policy and code of conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety.
- Assist in the provision of a child-safe environment for students.
Who May Apply
- Holders of qualifications in administration or information technology studies.
- People suitable to engage in child-connected work.
- Applicants must hold or be willing to acquire a Working with Children Check card and undergo a National Police Record Check.
Position Conditions
Work Hours: 3 days per week, 8:00 am to 4:00pm
Classification: Education Support Range 2 Category B (CEMEA 2022)
