MacKillop College is seeking an energetic and committed Health and Physical Education teacher who is deeply motivated to empower young people to make informed choices, build positive relationships and develop lifelong health literacy. As trusted educators, our HPE staff guide students through key areas of adolescent development including mental health, physical fitness, respectful relationships, identity, nutrition, personal development, digital wellbeing and other influences on healthy decision-making.

The ideal candidate will value physical activity, model positive wellbeing practices and thrive in active, practical learning environments. They will bring a capacity to engage and support learners across a range of skill levels, fostering both participation and personal growth in every student.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity however, part-time applications will also be considered. The successful applicant will commence in January 2026.    

Our ideal Candidate will have 

  • a passion for engaging students, combined with demonstrated experience with classroom teaching 
  • demonstrated understanding of contemporary Health and Physical Education curriculum and pedagogy
  • a strong ability to manage diverse learning spaces e.g., gym, in the field, and in the classroom
  • ability to create engaging, inclusive and practical learning experiences that support diverse student needs
  • enthusiasm for promoting health, wellbeing and lifelong physical activity 
  • creative ways to integrate evidence-based practice into our academic and behaviour curriculum, to improve educational outcomes
  • experience in using multiple teaching techniques and technologies to engage students in learning 
  • a commitment to collaboration and continuous innovation in the development of learning resources    
  • demonstrated ability to foster a welcoming and safe learning environment 
  • a commitment to work in a Catholic Education environment.
