Role Description/Criteria

Mount St. Joseph Girls’ College is a Catholic girls' secondary college in Altona. Current enrolment is approximately 1200 students.

The College is currently seeking an enthusiastic sessional Woodwind Teacher to begin teaching in Term 1, 2026.

This position is a contractor role involving half a day worth of teaching (teaching day is flexible) on saxophone, flute, and clarinet, and leading one of the college wind ensembles. There is room for this program to grow, and we are very keen for the right person to step into this role.

The successful applicant will:

  • be an enthusiastic, creative and energetic teacher
  • be able to teach saxophone, flute and clarinet
  • have prior experience running ensembles
  • be part of a supportive group of music teachers
  • be keen to build and promote this program in 2026
  • have excellent music teaching skills
  • be organised
  • be registered with the VIT or hold a current WWCC
