Role Description/Criteria

St Monica's College is a Catholic co-educational College (Years 7 - 12) serving the northern suburbs of Melbourne and is governed under the authority of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Limited (MACS).

Our College is located on three metropolitan campuses in Epping and Reservoir and a rural campus, Ostia, in Strath Creek for spiritual retreat.  Epping campuses are walking distance from each other and the Epping train station.

Seeking a passionate and suitably qualified Vocal Teacher to join our Music Department. This is a permanent part time (4 days per week) position commencing Tuesday, 27 January 2026.

This position involved providing individual vocal tuition to students in Years 7 - 12. The role has flexibility in teaching days and has potential for growth.

Candidates must have the ability to plan, work and learn in a team environment.  They must also have excellent classroom management skills and have a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and contemporary pedagogies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality vocal instruction from beginner to advanced levels
  • Assist with the preparation of students for AMEB, VCE and VET Music Examinations
  • Direct vocal ensembles, including College choir
  • Serve as a Vocal Coach for the annual College Production
  • Organise and participate in the annual vocal soiree
  • Apply sound knowledge of vocal pedagogy across a range of musical styles
  • The ability to accompany students on piano (Preferred but not essential).

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Voice or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in vocal teaching and ensemble direction
  • A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young musicians
  • An ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents and colleagues
  • An ability to create an engaging, educational and challenging learning environment that caters for the needs of all students
  • An eagerness to learn
  • An enthusiasm to implement a differentiated curriculum and use modern technology to support student learning.
