Role Description/Criteria

Galilee Regional Catholic Primary School, located in the heart of South Melbourne and has an enrolment of approximately 370 students. We are seeking to appoint a Classroom Teacher for 2026. 

We are looking for a skilled and innovative Primary School Teacher who demonstrates a growth mindset, is passionate about lifelong learning, and has a strong understanding of research and evidence-based teaching and learning practices.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and Religious Education Framework, with the ability to plan, integrate, and deliver learning experiences tailored to a range of student abilities.
  • Ability to use student data to inform teaching practices and address the individual learning needs of students.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing positively to a supportive and professional workplace culture.
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive, respectful, and constructive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Openness to feedback, reflective practice, and a commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.

Special Requirements

  • Galilee is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and protection of all children in our care. The successful candidate must hold or acquire and maintain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
  • Applications must include the names and contact details of three current referees, including current or most recent Principal or fourth year supervising teacher.
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education or be prepared to undertake such accreditation should the position become longer term.
  • Candidates must hold a valid visa and/or full Australian Working Rights and provide evidence of this.
