We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Science Laboratory Technician to join our Science Learning Area. This important role supports the delivery of engaging and safe practical science learning experiences for students across the College.
About the Role
The Science Laboratory Technician provides essential technical and logistical support to science staff, ensuring the effective operation of laboratory spaces and the preparation of materials and equipment for practical classes. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, organised, and well resourced science environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing materials, equipment, and chemicals for practical classes
- Maintaining laboratory stock, equipment, and safe storage systems
- Supporting classroom teachers during practical activities
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and College policies
- Assisting with the general organisation and operation of the science preparation area
The Science Laboratory Technician is responsible to, and reports directly to the Learning Area Leader - Science.

- Be committed to safe laboratory practices and compliance with regulatory requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in a school laboratory or similar environment is desirable
- Understanding of safe handling and storage of chemicals preferred
- A current Working with Children Check and National Police Check are required

Position Details:
- Part-time 0.5 FTE, Fixed Term with the possibilities of ongoing
- Commencing as soon as possible
- Category B, Education Support Employee under the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022.
