Role Description/Criteria
Applications are sought for the part time (0.50 FTE) fixed term position of School Counsellor at the Mornington Campus. The School Counsellor provides students and families at the College with appropriate support to cope with issues that impact their wellbeing. They are responsible to the Principal through the Vice Principal - Students, Vice Principals and Deputy Principals - Heads of Campus. He/she will liaise with the Deputy Principals - Heads of Campus, House Coordinators, Homeroom Teachers, Subject Teachers and relevant College personnel regarding the most effective ways of dealing with students and their educational, emotional, and social well-being. The period of the fixed term replacement position is 13 July – 18 September 2026 and the days of work for this position are negotiable. This is an Education Support Employee Position Level 5 Category B.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
This position provide students and families at the College with appropriate support to cope with issues that impact their wellbeing. The School Counsellor is responsible to the Principal through the Vice Principal - Students, Vice Principals and Deputy Principals - Heads of Campus and the Counselling Services Team Leader. He/she will liaise with the Deputy Principals - Heads of Campus, House Coordinators, Homeroom Teachers, Subject Teachers and relevant College personnel regarding the most effective ways of dealing with students and their educational, emotional and social well-being.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The School Counsellor’s major areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the implementation of the Vision and Mission Statements of Padua College
- Collaborating with the College Pastoral Associate and Counselling Services Team Leader on matters of wellbeing for members of the College community
- Liaising with teaching staff concerning student wellbeing issues
- Supporting the College Pastoral Associate and College Pastoral Executive in formulating the College response to any College critical incident
- Being a representative on various College and external committees
- performing other duties and implementing decisions as requested by the Principal or the College Improvement Team.
SALARY REMUNERATION: According to the CEMEA 2022, $102,955.00 – $113,653.00 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
