Role Description/Criteria

Iona College Geelong is a Catholic co-educational secondary school located in Charlemont on Wadawurrung Country within the rapidly growing Armstrong Creek area between Geelong and the Surf Coast. Recognising the need for a second co-educational Catholic college, Catholic Education Melbourne established Iona College Geelong in 2020. 

Iona also places strong emphasis on holistic wellbeing for both students and staff. Our curriculum embeds Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), Mindfulness, Respectful Relationships and Positive Education, equipping students with tools for resilience and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum/Australian Curriculum.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports student wellbeing and achievement.
  • Model and celebrate behaviours that reflect the values of Catholic Education and represent the College in a positive and professional manner.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and collaborative practice.
  • Participate in school life, including co-curricular activities and community events.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education.
  • Registration (or eligibility) with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) or appropriate state authority.
  • A commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to integrate ICT into teaching and learning.
