Role Description/Criteria
Aquinas College wishes to employ a dynamic and suitably qualified musician/music tutor specialising in Percussion. This position will be a part time (0.2 FTE) ongoing position.
The preferred candidate will be enthusiastic, keen to engage and inspire our students and able to teach students at a variety of learning stages- beginners through to senior players.
The successful applicant will have:
- a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children
- a strong working knowledge of Contemporary Percussion and Drum Kit Performance
- be comfortable teaching Year 7 – 12 students including VCE students
- the ability to facilitate and conduct Percussion ensembles (eg; Drumline) and concert band percussion sectionals
- availability to participate in school music events as required from time to time
- excellent communication skills
- the ability to work successfully within a team
- a current WWCC and Police Check or be prepared to obtain one (Non VIT applicants)
- relevant permissions to work in Australia
- VIT Registration (advantageous, but not essential)
The successful applicant will be appointed following a salary assessment according to either the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement (CEMEA) 2022 or the Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2020 depending on VIT registration status.
