Role Description/Criteria

About MacKillop College

MacKillop is a Catholic co-educational College in the Josephite tradition, inspired by the vision of St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop. We are committed to nurturing lifelong learners who engage authentically, embrace diversity, and strive for personal excellence in all aspects of life. As an innovative and future-focused College, MacKillop offers contemporary facilities, a dynamic curriculum, and comprehensive wellbeing programs designed to meet the diverse needs of approximately 1,820 students across Years 7–12.

About the role

We invite passionate educators at every stage of their career to join our vibrant community of dedicated teachers.

At MacKillop, our science teachers cultivate a strong foundation in scientific reasoning, with our chemistry teachers deepening this understanding through the intentional integration of theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring the development of both conceptual clarity and confidence in the laboratory.

Students build their understanding of atomic theory, chemical and biochemical reactions, stoichiometry, energy transformations and analytical techniques. The Chemistry curriculum strengthens students’ ability to apply chemical principles, conduct safe and methodical laboratory investigations, analyse and interpret data, and communicate scientific findings with precision and clarity.

The curriculum is thoughtfully planned and well-sequenced, with learning experiences that are responsive to student learning needs and aligned with clear learning goals. Learning is grounded in real-world application, enabling students to see scientific thinking as relevant and transferable beyond the classroom.

Our community of talented educators is committed to preparing students for life beyond school, through an engaging academic and behavioural curriculum that develops knowledge, skills, independence and a strong sense of responsibility.

This is a permanent, full-time position; however, part-time applications will also be considered. The successful applicant will commence in Term 1, 2027.
