On 8 June 2017 the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Julie Bishop, and Ms Julia Banks MP, Federal Member for Chisholm, visited Avila College, Mount Waverley, for a ‘Women in Leadership’ Special Assembly.

The Foreign Minister and Ms Banks addressed the assembly, sharing their experiences in various leadership roles in business and politics. They also engaged in a question and answer session with senior students.

Ms Banks said, 'It was a great honour to be joined by the Foreign Minister and have such a wonderful opportunity to speak with students from Avila College who are the future female leaders of our nation.'
