Thomas Carr College, Tarneit, has recorded a special rendition of ‘Faith in the future’, the song for the 200th anniversary of Catholic education in Australia.

The video was filmed at Werribee Mansion. Werribee Park, in which the mansion is situated, was purchased by the Catholic Church in 1922 and the mansion served as a seminary for many years. The college’s patron, Archbishop Thomas Carr, was instrumental in the development of Catholic education in Victoria. He believed that Catholic schools were necessary for the holistic education of Catholic children and young people. Thomas Carr College was opened on 30 January 1997 in honour of Archbishop Carr, whose grand vision of Catholic education endures today.

The 200th anniversary of Catholic education in Australia coincides with the 25-year anniversary of Thomas Carr College, so this year is a twofold celebration for the Thomas Carr College community.
