The Royal Melbourne Show may have been postponed for another year, but the students at St Mary’s School, Mount Evelyn, gave their community a taste of the fun virtually.

Towards the end of Term 3, the school organised St Mary’s Virtual Show to showcase the students’ talents. Held over two days, the virtual show involved a series of events which the students entered both ‘live’ and through video submissions. Events included competitions for best cupcake, best cat and best dog. The livestock competition included several students taking viewers live into their paddocks. Other events included equestrian riding, gymnastics, motorbike riding, BMX, floral arrangements and doll collections.

In total, there were 26 event categories with over 300 students entering a maximum of two events. All students were able to access the Virtual Show Arena and watch the events along with their peers and families. The courage and joy that shone through the screen uplifted the whole community.
