Hon. Dan Andrews MP, visiting St Paul’s School, Bentleigh2 May 2022

The Premier of Victoria, the Hon. Dan Andrews MP, visited St Paul’s School, Bentleigh, on Friday to officially open the refurbished junior school building, which is enabling outstanding learning experiences and possibilities for students at the school.

Made possible by a $1 million grant from the Victorian Government, the refurbished building includes new state-of-the-art classrooms and outdoor learning spaces.

Principal Catherine Tammesild thanked Premier Andrews and local MP, Nick Staikos, for their ‘continued support and friendship to the St Paul’s School and our community’. She acknowledged the instrumental role of Mr Staikos in securing the grant from the Victorian Government.

Premier Andrews said that he was proud of the investment made by his government in Catholic education, saying that ‘it’s an investment in every one of these young people and their families’.

When speaking about the investment his government has made in capital funding for non-government schools, Premier Andrews said: ‘The important thing here is that every parent should be able to make a choice about where they send their kids’.

Mrs Tammesild gave Premier Andrews and Mr Staikos a tour of the refurbished school building, following the Premier’s remarks.
