St Monica’s College, Epping, has scooped the pool at the recent Sports Association of Catholic Coeducational Secondary Schools (SACCSS) Athletics Championships 2023.

This annual event brings together 15 secondary colleges to compete across a range of sports. St Monica’s College won all individual age group championships, as well as all aggregate boys and girls awards. This is the first time in SACCSS’ 40-year history that a member college has won all individual and aggregate championships at the one event, with students from St Monica’s College also setting six new SACCSS individual records.

‘This is an outstanding result that demonstrates the commitment of our sporting coaches and support staff to ensure our students reach their best possible level’, said Principal Brian Hanley. ‘This is a first for SACCSS, having one college win all junior, intermediate and senior championships. I am very proud of our team. Our college will continue to provide the best possible coaching staff to support our students.’

St Monica’s College has also won the Division 1 Senior Boys titles in basketball, football and Australian Rules: the first time in the history of SACCSS that a college has held all three titles concurrently.
