Kolbe Catholic College officially opens new Mickleham campus
29 May 2026
Kolbe Catholic College officially opened its new St Catherine of Bologna campus in Mickleham on Wednesday 27 May, marking a significant milestone for Catholic education in Melbourne’s rapidly growing northern corridor.
The new campus welcomed its first Year 7 cohort at the beginning of 2026 with 156 students, while demand from families has already surged, with more than 700 applications received across the College’s Greenvale and Mickleham campuses for Year 7 in 2027.
Keen to cut the ribbon, Victoria’s Deputy Premier and Education Minister, Ben Carroll joined MACS Executive Director, Dr Edward Simons, Victorian Catholic Education Authority CEO, Professor Elizabeth Labone, College leaders, students, staff and parish representatives for the official opening celebration.
Kolbe Catholic College Principal, Nick Scully said the strong interest from families reflected the College’s commitment to faith, learning and community.
'The response to our new Mickleham campus has been phenomenal and reflects the trust families place in Kolbe Catholic College,' Mr Scully said.
'From the very beginning, our vision has been to create a welcoming, future-focused Catholic school where young people can flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually, and grow to become citizens who contribute to a better world.'
Grounded in faith, the campus places a strong emphasis on values-based learning and the holistic development of students as compassionate and service-oriented young people. Mr Scully said the College was committed to building a campus that reflects the aspirations of its local community.
'We are proud to offer exceptional facilities, evidence-based teaching, learning and engagement, together with outstanding staff and a nurturing environment where every student is known, supported and encouraged to grow in confidence, character and faith,' he said.
Located 50 kilometres north of Melbourne’s CBD, the campus features 4,200 square metres of contemporary learning spaces and has been thoughtfully designed to reflect both innovation and connection to place, including the preservation of a significant 200-year-old tree at the heart of the site.
The opening of the St Catherine of Bologna campus marks another important milestone in MACS’ commitment to delivering high-quality Catholic education to families across Melbourne’s growing northern corridor.
