About the role

Catholic Regional College North Keilor is seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Diversity Specialist to join our dynamic team. This full-time role will be based in Keilor North, Victoria and will play a crucial part in supporting the academic and personal growth of our diverse student population.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans for students with diverse needs, including those with learning difficulties, physical or intellectual disabilities, and English as an Additional Language (EAL) requirements
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other specialists to ensure a holistic, student-centred approach to learning
  • Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students, tailoring teaching strategies to meet their unique needs
  • Monitor student progress, analyse data, and adjust learning plans accordingly
  • Liaise with external agencies and service providers to coordinate additional support for students
  • Contribute to the development and review of the school's inclusion and diversity policies
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in inclusive education

What we're looking for

  • A teaching qualification and registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and a recognised qualification in Special Education or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience working as a specialist teacher or learning support professional in a secondary school setting
  • In-depth knowledge of teaching strategies and learning support programs for students with diverse needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on personalised, student-centred approaches
  • Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting the personal and academic growth of all students
