Role Description/Criteria
St Monica’s seeks a qualified and experienced Learning Support Officer to support our learning program.
At St Monica’s School, we hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school.
The role of a Learning Support Officer is to ensure all students are provided with assistance to achieve competency within the normal range of student outcomes or in accordance with their personalised learning plans.
To be successful in this position you will have the following:
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Be able to provide 1:1 support to a student.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in both oral and written communication.
- Sound Literacy and Numeracy skills.
- Capacity to participate in various school activities such as sports, sacramental programs, liturgies and school excursions.
- Capacity to develop and maintain strong working relationships with all staff.
- Flexibility to work across different year levels as required.
- Support classroom teachers and school leadership in duties that promote student wellbeing and school improvement.
- Ability to work with individual students with disabilities, impairments or learning difficulties.
- Keep privileged information confidential.
- Collaborate with teachers in monitoring and evaluating individual student progress.
- Provide classroom teachers and the Learning Diversity Leader with information on student progress and successful strategies.
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to work independently.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

We are seeking someone to work 3 days a week from 9am-2pm to begin 6th October 2025. Times and days can be negotiated. There is a strong possibility of this role continuing in 2026 (possibly with additional days).
Applicants with a Certificate 4 in Education Support or equivalent or be a pre-service teacher currently enrolled in an education course at university are strongly encouraged to apply.
Salary classification is dependent upon experience, duties and qualifications.
