The Role
 

The Director of Learning (Years 10-12) is a senior leadership role, committed to advancing the College’s mission and vision. Reporting to the Principal through the Deputy Principal - Learning and Teaching, this position drives a collaborative culture focused on quality learning, academic excellence, and the growth of both students and staff. The Director of Learning (Years 10-12) shares responsibility for embodying and promoting the Catholic Marist philosophy through leadership aligned with the College’s Catholic ethos, Marist spirituality, and Vision for Learning.

In partnership with the Deputy Principal - Learning and Teaching, the Director of Learning (Years 10-12) oversees the vision, alignment, and performance of the College’s academic and learning programs. This role leads the academic direction and outcomes of senior students, as well as the professional capacity and development of teaching staff. It plays a pivotal role in fostering a deep and rigorous culture of learning and continuous growth across the College community.

As a member of the School Improvement Team, the Director of Learning (Years 10-12) holds a college-wide leadership responsibility, fostering a team-based approach to all learning and teaching initiatives. Key responsibilities include implementing and overseeing strategic academic programs and processes that monitor and support student learning progression and growth. The role also leads the College’s pedagogical priorities, ensuring the adoption of differentiated, high-impact, and innovative teaching practices that align with the College’s philosophy of personalised learning.

Collaboration is central to this position, with close working relationships alongside the Director of Learning (Years 7-9) and the Director of Students (Years 10-12) to promote a consistent and integrated approach to student wellbeing and learning. The Director of Learning (Years 10-12) also partners with subject learning leaders and holds specific responsibilities in coordination with:

  • VCE Coordinator
  • Director of Learning (Years 7-9)
  • Director of Students (Years 10-12)
  • Applied Learning and VET Leader
  • Careers and Further Education Team

The Director of Learning (Years 10-12) actively supports the College’s vision and goals as a dynamic learning community and is committed to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
