Role Description/Criteria

As Literacy Leader you will:

  • Work closely with the Learning and Teaching Leader to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based literacy practices.
  • Support and coach teachers to deliver high-quality, differentiated literacy instruction.
  • Analyse student data to inform practice and improve outcomes.
  • Coordinate whole-school literacy programs and assessments.
  • Collaborate with staff, leadership, and families to support student growth.
  • Have a deep understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and contemporary literacy pedagogy.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Be committed to the Catholic ethos and values of our school community.
  • Have excellent communication and organisational abilities

    Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in education.
  • Demonstrated experience in literacy leadership or a similar role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to working in partnership with staff, students, and families in a faith-filled learning environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to our Child Safe policies and procedures.
