Role Description/Criteria

St. Scholastica's Catholic Primary School located in Burwood is seeking an highly motivated and enthusiastic STEM teacher to join our school part time in 2026. The successful applicant will be required to:

  • demonstrate commitment to the Catholic ethos and be willing to actively support the faith life of the school community.
  • have a thorough understanding of the Victorian Curriculum, particularly in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
  • plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based STEM learning experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • differentiate teaching to cater for the diverse learning needs, abilities and interests of all students.
  • use digital technologies and contemporary tools to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • understand current research and best practice in STEM and digital technology education.
  • use assessment and data to inform teaching practice and report on student progress in line with the Victorian Curriculum.
  • have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • participate in ongoing professional learning and contribute to a collaborative school culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • demonstrate understanding of and commitment to child safety, wellbeing and inclusion in accordance with the Child Safe Standards.

St. Scholastica’s intends to appoint an ARTS teacher at 0.24 FTE (one day per week) in 2026 and is open to the possibility of a single candidate undertaking both roles, resulting in a combined 0.48 FTE appointment, for a suitably qualified applicant.

Accreditation to teach RE in a Catholic School or willingness to do so.
