Role Description/Criteria

Santa Maria College is a Catholic Girls’ Secondary School in the tradition of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan of the Order of St Benedict catering for approximately 760 students from Year 7–12.

Authorised as an International Baccalaureate global school, Santa Maria College offers the Middle Years Program (Year 7–10) as part of their contemporary approach to learning.

2026 position

A unique opportunity exists for suitably qualified enthusiastic and energetic Guitar Specialists for students enrolled in the College Music program.

This position will commence at the beginning of term 1 2026: 2nd February 2026.

Position as follows:

  • We are seeking a Guitar specialist for students enrolled in the College Music Program from Year 7 – 12
  • Casual position for approximately 2 days per week depending on enrollment numbers and student availability.
  • Experience in a school setting and music notation reading skills preferred.
  • Experience in teaching acoustic and electric guitar required.
  • This position includes two guitar group lessons that are part of the Year 7 program. 
  • This position includes one guitar ensemble lesson per week.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, student performance and progress.
  • Complete other administrative tasks as required.
  • Work in a team with other teachers in the Music Department.
  • Cooperate with school procedures in relation to matters such as student attendance, punctuality, care of rooms and adherence to rules.
  • Adhere to all school policies and attend meetings when requested.
  • Requirements: Must hold a current Working with Children Check and a current Police Check.
