Role Description/Criteria

Our dedicated Learning Support Officer (LSO) team ensures that all students have the tools they need to access the curriculum and thrive. 

We are looking for someone who shares our positive approach to learning, understanding and willingness to work with neurodivergent students mostly likely in Foundation. Flexibility and adaptability are key qualities, as the successful candidate will need to respond to the changing needs of our students with a clam nature.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • liaise with the classroom teacher, the Learning Diversity Leader and other members of the Wellbeing/Learning Diversity team
  • attend designated staff meetings, Program Support Group meetings, professional development and other relevant duties requested by the Principal
  • work within and contribute to a collaborative education environment
  • work 1:1 with 'extensive' students diagnosed or imputed with ASD/ADHD 
  • support the learning of students with additional needs in the classroom, attending to adjustments in Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs)
  • Be willing to support extensive students with an individual program as their needs require  
  • use spreadsheets to track sessions with students for formal NCCD requirements
  • have a knowledge of types of disabilities such as ASD and ADHD, and appropriate strategies to develop personal, social and independent learning skills
  • assist with yard duties and various administrative tasks as required
  • comply with the school’s Child Safety Policy, Code of Conduct and procedures relating to Child Safety.

This position is for the 2026 school year 

Special Requirements

Applicants should have obtained or be willing to undertake, Certificate IV (or higher qualification) in Education Support and must hold a current Working With Children's Check. University students studying Primary Teaching are strongly encouraged to apply
