St Catherine of Siena Primary school is seeking applicants that are keen to begin or continue their teaching career in a school that is committed to the Vision of Instruction and practices that are informed by cognitive science. We are currently making meaningful changes to ensure we close educational gaps and maximise the learning of our students in an environment that is routine driven, calm and safe. The successful applicant will:

Have knowledge in, or a willingness to learn about MAC’s Vision for Instruction & Engagement which consists of, but is not limited to;

  • Explicit instruction with a multi-tiered system of support
  • Use formative and summative assessment to target instruction and make judgments on student progress
  • Embed strong, predictable routines into your practice 
  • Employ responsive teaching strategies by adjusting instruction in real-time based on student understanding and learning needs by using school-wide checking for understanding strategies
  • Possess high expectations for all students
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, particularly in the areas of curriculum content knowledge and effective instructional routines
  • Manage behaviour in line with our Positive Behaviour for Learning framework
  • Work productively within a team environment 

Special Requirements:

The successful applicant needs to:

  • be eager to embrace the Catholic ethos of our school
  • be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
  • have read and be committed to upholding and maintaining Child Safety Standards.
  • abide by the MACS Code of Conduct
  • hold a current VIT registration
