Role Description/Criteria

Business Manager – Kilbreda College

A senior leadership role entrusted with stewardship and the long-term future of the College

Founded in 1904, Kilbreda College is a Catholic girls’ school in the Brigidine tradition, inspired by the legacy of Saint Brigid and guided by our commitment to Fortiter et Suaviter — Strength and Kindliness. As a faith community, we are committed to forming young women of hope and compassion, with the courage to act for justice and to respond thoughtfully to the needs of our world.

Kilbreda College was recently recognised by The Educator as a 5 Star Employer of Choice, reflecting the strength of our culture, our investment in people, and the shared sense of purpose that shapes our work.

We are now seeking an exceptional Business Manager to join our College Leadership Team at a significant moment in the life of the College. As we finalise a bold Master Plan and begin the work of shaping our next strategic plan, Kilbreda is entering an important phase of growth and renewal, requiring wise stewardship, sound judgment and strategic leadership. This is a role for a leader who understands stewardship as both a professional responsibility and a moral commitment.

Grounded in our lived values of courage, compassion, hope, hospitality, justice and wonder, Kilbreda fosters a culture of care, professionalism and innovation, providing a contemporary and hope-filled Catholic education for young women.

About the Role

As Business Manager, you will hold a critical senior leadership position, working closely with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the College’s resources, systems and operations are aligned with its mission and strategic priorities.

This role requires more than technical or operational expertise. It requires sound judgment, ethical clarity and the capacity to lead complex work in service of mission and sustainability.  It calls for a leader who can bring sound judgment, ethical clarity and relational strength to complex work — someone who understands that financial, organisational and systems decisions shape culture, enable learning, and carry responsibility for the long-term sustainability of the community.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Strategic financial leadership, budgeting and long-term sustainability
  • Governance, risk management and compliance
  • Leadership of business operations, systems and digital infrastructure
  • Oversight of facilities, capital works and master planning
  • Strengthening organisational capability, processes and accountability
  • Partnership with the Principal, Senior Leadership Team and Kildare Education Ministries
  • Leading the business teams with strength and kindliness

This role will suit a leader who is professionally accomplished, values-driven and strategically minded — someone able to exercise sound judgment in complex contexts, work collaboratively at a senior level, and contribute decisively to the leadership and stewardship of the College.

The Business Manager at Kilbreda plays a consequential role in shaping the conditions that enable learning, wellbeing and mission to flourish. It is a position that carries responsibility, influence and the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the life and future of the College.

To apply, please submit your Curriculum Vitae, a Cover Letter, a response to the key selection criteria, and the contact details of three professional referees. The recruitment pack can be downloaded here or from the Employment Page of the Kilbreda College website.

Applications close at 9.00am, Monday 16 February 2026.

Kilbreda College is a child safe employer and is committed to the protection and wellbeing of children. All applicants will be required to comply with the College’s Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct and to undergo appropriate police and background checks.
