Role Description/Criteria

The Learning Diversity Teacher / Learning Specialist provides support for students with additional learning needs through:

  • Designing, implementing and reviewing of Individual Learning Plans (ILP's);
  • Facilitating Pupil Support Group (PSG) meetings;
  • Staffing the Learning Hub;
  • Designing and delivering Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions (numeracy, literacy and/or behavior);
  • Building the capacity of classroom teachers in making learning adjustments, and in modifying work, and
  • Assisting in the development and management of Learning Support Officers

Whilst the position is advertised as full time, part time of 0.6 or more would also be considered.

The position would be ideal for a teacher who has experience in learning intervention or who is interested in further study in this field. As this area is a school improvement priority, the College covers 50% of postgraduate tuition fees for staff undertaking postgraduate studies in inclusion studies.
