Role Description/Criteria

Our Lady of Mercy College Heidelberg is a Catholic secondary school for girls and a Ministry of Mercy Education Ltd.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, dynamic, experienced people for a:

School Counsellor / Psychologist

The successful applicant will join the Student Wellbeing & Counselling Team.  She / he will have qualifications to work as a school counsellor / psychologist within a secondary school setting.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated and passionate about student wellbeing and will be committed to working within a team that is focused on proactive support for students in an educational setting. 

Start date: 20 April 2026

Terms: full-time, fixed term until 11 December 2026.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Catholic Education Multi Employer Agreement 2022 for teachers.  The position includes paid school holidays.

All candidates must provide evidence of having the right to live and work in Australia.  Counsellors must hold a valid Working with Children Check and undergo a National Police Record Check.  In addition to this, Counsellors must also provide registration with the relevant organisation.

If shortlisted, two to three referees will be required, one being the current employer.
