Deputy Principal
The following outlines the key responsibilities, accountabilities, and expectations of the Deputy Principal role at St Mary’s Primary School.
Working in close partnership with the Principal, the Deputy Principal will play a vital leadership role in bringing the vision and mission of St Mary’s to life. This position requires a highly professional and relational leader who demonstrates sound judgement, discretion, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
Role Overview
At St Mary’s Primary School, the Deputy Principal is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the development of a faith-filled, high-performing learning community where every individual is known, valued, and supported to thrive.
The successful applicant will actively promote and strengthen the school’s Catholic identity while fostering a culture of belonging and inclusion. They will lead and support excellence in teaching and learning, and build staff capacity through purposeful coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator to make a meaningful impact on student learning, staff development, and the ongoing growth of a vibrant school community.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful experience in a leadership role in a Catholic Primary School
- On-going commitment to Professional Learning; post graduate qualification desirable

Certified Victorian Institute of Teaching registration
